2008 - Enerboss 400C Integrated into LEED ® Platinum Public Housing Complex

Brampton, Ontario

Nu-Air’s Enerboss is integrated into North America’s first LEED ® Platinum public housing complex in Brampton, ON. The John Street Housing Development is one of the largest affordable mixed-income housing projects built in Ontario in the last 10 years.  The 16-storey building, located in downtown Brampton, accommodates seniors and singles in a total of 200 units and will be the first of some 600 units built over the next three years.  The project is funded by an unprecedented partnership between the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario, the City of Brampton, the Region of Peel and Martinway Contracting Ltd. housing complex

What is also remarkable about this development is it represents one of the first public housing projects that will be built to LEED ® standards, and the first in North America built to the LEED ® Platinum standard.  The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED ®) Green Building Rating System™, developed by the United States Green Building Council, has encouraged and accelerated global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.   The John Street Public Housing Development is aiming to achieve the highest possible LEED ® rating - platinum. The development opened for occupancy in spring, 2010.
